Recently I had been wondering whether to carry on with one of my projects. To find a solution, I had decided to play one of the currently popular psychological board games (they are more frequently called transformation games).
Today there are dozens, if not hundreds of such games around. They are a lot like children’s board games. Players choose their token the same way, and roll the dice and draw cards the same way. The tokens (or pieces, chips, etc.) move between the spaces on the gameboard, which is different for each game. The number of participants is usually from 1 to 4 people.
These games are said to have been invented by Tibetan monks, for whom the spaces on the gameboard represented various qualities. One had to go, for example, from egoism to altruism or from hate to love. Sometimes it takes a while to get to the desired space, because when the die is rolled, the outcome is a “random” number. And since almost all such games are “looped”, playing them can take a long time.
I have played such games several times, and in my opinion the most interesting are the games with a master. If the master is good, then he/she can provide an interesting interpretation of what the spaces and cards end up showing.
I chose a game called “The Little Prince”. I love this work by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, and I decided that having similar tastes is a good selection criterion. Even more so since I had the opportunity of playing with the master who had created this game, which is always an interesting occasion.
And so, I rolled a dice and moved across the gameboard. There were quite a lot of spaces, and each of them corresponded to a set of cards, which I drew at random. The probability of drawing a certain card was no more than 2-3%, i.e. the probability of drawing one and the same card twice in a row was not too great.
And then twice in a row I hit the same space and drew out the same card. The inscription on the card was “I got lost.” And isn’t that an answer to the question?!
And this was not the only card I pulled out twice during that game.
So what is this phenomenon? The subconscious playing games? Or a clue from the Higher Forces?
