The emotions themselves are caused by our falling away from the Divine. But what is the mechanism by which the desire for reunion with the Divine is built into our consciousness?
I have always marveled at musicians who recorded, for example, “Mozart: Complete Symphonies”, or “Beethoven – Complete Piano Sonatas”.
According to Buddhism, our desires are the main cause of our suffering. The satisfaction of any desire is fleeting and only leads to the emergence of new desires, the onset of a cycle of unfulfilled desires and the advent of suffering.
All life is an experiment. The more experiments you make the better.
To be and to do are different concepts, although many people pay particular attention to the latter.
